Doc Daneeka Royale

What to do with some leftover sparkling wine? Easy, a Doc Daneeka Royale by Alex Day from Death & Co. This is a play on another iconic Champagne cocktail (guess which one) and it’s definitely as good, if not even better . . . The maple syrup and the grapefruit bitters somehow transform this sparkling cocktail into a very contemporary and delightful experience. Unlike regular simple syrup, the maple syrup doesn’t only add sweetness but also a rather unique “dark” taste. We are actually using maple syrup more and more in drinks after discovering what a great cocktail ingredient it makes.

And it goes without saying, Death & Co’s cocktail book is beyond great. So many interesting recipes (in fact there’s more than 500 of them) and you want to try them all!

While we the Champagne bottle still is open and there is something left we also could recommend the classic French 75, Morning Glory Cocktail or Brandy Crusta
