Bolsy Move

Whenever you see Cherry Heering in an ingredient list, you know you will end up with a colorful cocktail. And the Bolsy Move from J.M. Curley’s is no exception.

However, it’s another rather unusual ingredient that defines this cocktail and that is genever. This Dutch spirit is a predecessor to gin, and it was invented already around 1500, roughly a hundred years before gin. Genever is juniper based, so it certainly is very gin-like in the end. It’s cool though to use an original spirit sometimes, and we are lucky to have a bottle in our home bar.

1,5 oz genever
0,5 oz yellow Chartreuse
0,5 oz Cherry Heering
0,75 oz lemon juice
1 dash Angostura bitters
Shake with ice and double strain into a coupe glass.

Photographed in our kitchen, with sun flowing from the west, this is proof that summer in Sweden can occasionally be very sunny. Better shoot those cocktails while it lasts!
