When in Chicago we just had to return to amazing, and very innovative bar The Aviary. This bar is currently ranked #29 on prestigious www.worlds50bestbars.com and is so deserving all attention. Cocktails on the pictures features ingredients such as hibiscus, merengue and barbecue bitters. Presentation of the cocktails is a big part of the experience, and The Aviary really has some spectacular glassware.
Reservations recommended
It’s possible to reserve a table a The Aviary, and it’s actually quite nice to do so and be absolutely certain you will get in at this popular bar. Once let in, you are seated in sofas in a very sober and elegant environment. However still very comfortable and welcoming, being handed the menus and having a first look into them is an experience on its own. The cocktail list is good-looking, relatively long, and is somehow sorted according to richness and intensity of the drinks. It’s tempting to try them all, but servings are actually quite generous and they contain a lot of alcohol so take your time before you decide on a next round.
Cocktails are prepared close to the entrance of the bar, in an almost laboratory-like environment. Very cool, although you don’t see the bar at all being seated in the sofas.
The Aviary is a must visit also on our upcoming Chicago visits!
