Penumbra Ripple

amontillado sherry, grand marnier, green chartreuse, whisky
Penumbra Ripple presented by Cocktail Detour

When we got the chance to try the Haig Club Single Grain Scotch Whisky we wanted to put it to maximum test. It’s supposed to be the perfect whisky for ”non whisky drinkers” which we thought sounded pretty cool. Also we were told that the Haig Club mixes well in several different kind of cocktails, and we couldn’t resist creating an original cocktail.

So here we are pairing it with semi sweet sherry, herbal Chartreuse and orange driven Grand Marnier. This results in a sophisticated but focused cocktail being very defined by the whisky of choice. The Haig Club works as the perfect base here, while there are still a lot of other interesting things going on in the cocktail.

We definitely did not belong to the ”non whisky drinkers” even before trying the Haig Club, but we can certainly understand how this could be the brand that gets more people to try whisky cocktails. Simply delicious.
