Meridian Daiquiri

aquavit, rum
Meridian Daiquiri presented by Cocktail Detour

The Meridian Daiquiri by Joaquin Simó we wanted to shoot in a vintage 1970s way. We had found some brown glassware recently in a charity shop, and we had some seventies wrapping paper available. We think it came together pretty nicely, the seventies is certainly an interesting era when it comes to both recipes and patterns.

What’s extra interesting in this cocktail is the combination of aquavit and pineapple juice. You’re tempted to think these two components would not work together, but they do, and in a really good way.

This recipe is from Death & Co’s book, which nowadays more or less means a quality stamp. The cocktail here is definitely not an exception and we encourage everyone to try this intriguing recipe with Scandinavian aquavit.

Muddle the cardamom pods in a shaker and all all remaining ingredients. Shake with ice and strain into a coupe or a rocks glass. We garnished with dehydrated pineapple slices, but Joaquin suggests a lime wheel.
