King Medicine

We absolutely love spicy chili cocktails. Normally we use Ancho Reys liqueur (both of their two types) to add that chili kick to cocktails, but in the King Medicine cocktail by Tonia Guffey the kick rather comes from chili bitters. And even if these two spicy drops don’t add a tremendous amount of spiciness, it is still very noticeable in the background. Now there are also quite a few other things going on in this one – pineapple and rosemary for example is a combination we haven’t tried before, but they pair really good together. And to add even more drama to the drink there is also green Chartreuse in it, and both tequila and mezcal. Oh yes, go ahead and try this wonderful recipe!

1 oz tequila
0,5 oz mezcal
1 oz pineapple juice
0,5 oz green Chartreuse
0,5 oz lime juice
0,25 oz simple syrup
2 dashes chili bitters
a rosemary spring
Combine all ingredients in a shaker (including the rosemary spring) and shake with ice, strain and pour.
