It’s winter time, and making a classic Alaska cocktail seems s(n)o(w) fitting. A cocktail doesn’t get more simple than this – just two ingredients, three if you also count the orange bitters.
But while it’s easy to make, it’s still a surprisingly complex cocktail tastewise. The Chartreuse on its own is so full of flavour, and when it is combined with the semi sweet old Tom gin and the bitters a snow angel is indeed born.
The subtle yellowness from the Chartreuse is what makes the Alaska so appealing. If poured into the proper glassware, the drink gets an almost golden tone and it simply looks delicious.
