Vatican City

dry vermouth, suze
Vatican City presented by Cocktail Detour

We had to make one more from Drew Lazor’s new book “Session Cocktails“. These low-alcohol recipes are so fitting for the super summer we are experiencing in Sweden.

This is the Vatican City by Mikki Kristola.

We love how French gentian spirit Suze is the star of this drink. Suze has a very characteristic flavour – bitter, sweet and refreshing at the same time. It also has this beautiful yellow colour that makes any drink based on it look so pretty.

The simple syrup used balances the Suze’s bitterness just perfect here. We sipped through this cocktail so easily, it’s truly cooling and uplifting during the current hot days.

Drew’s book is the perfect companion during the summer season. Each recipe is one you want to try, and there is a beautiful photograph of each drink. Get your copy and start drooling!
