Tuxedo Cocktail

When a regular dry martini doesn’t excite you enough, theĀ Tuxedo Cocktail offers some more complexity and some additional flavors. By also adding maraschino liqueur, orange bitters and absint, this martini variation is pretty interesting and very enjoyable in the end.

What’s in it

2 oz gin

0,75 oz dry vermouth

0,25 oz maraschino liqueur

2 dashes of orange bitters

a few drops of absint

Stir all ingredients over ice until completely chilled, and diluted according to taste.

It’s probably the absint that makes the cocktail slightly cloudy. But at the same times the absint also makes the drink truly interesting. The licorice notes of the absint, in combination with the sweet maraschino liqueur is really something. Rest assured though, the Tuxedo is still a very dry drink.
