We have a love-hate relationship with Pastis. The anise and licorice flavors are somewhat overwhelming but with the sweetness its highly enjoyable. Pastis hit the shelfs in 1932 some years after Absint been band.
Its often dilutet with water and turns milky and white. Today we wanted to try something new and found inspiration online for Tomate, a Pastis and grenadine cocktail. Ours didn’t turn up red as an tomato but rather pink and maybe a little to sweet. We will keep drinking Pastis only with cold water and a ice cube, a perfect summer drink when the weather is hot.
Pastis Tomate
1 part Pastis
4 part cold water
splash of grenadine.
