Cucunut Spring

Cucunut Sprin by Cocktail Detour

We are in the middle of the “Strawless Cocktail Week“. It’s a global event aimed at trying to reduce the endless amount of disposable plastic straws we tend to use in drinks.

Today there are so many more environmentally friendly straws available. They can be made of metal, glass, bamboo or paper, but what they all have in common is that they are either reusable or degradable.

Now, we are the first ones to admit we have previously used plastic straws,. We might even do so every now and then in the future when we want to highlight a special cocktail with an eye catching straw. What we will promise to do though, is to at all times think twice, and in most cases choose a reusable straw rather than a disposable one.

For this reason we purchased a set of five metallic straws. They came with a small brush for internal cleaning. These straws are obviously dishwasher friendly, meaning they will be more or less sterilized between every us.

The first drink we use these straws in are in Cocktail Detour original; Cucunut Spring, a refreshing summer cocktail with both cucumber and coconut in it.
