Chi Vangeles

Now having spent a few days in Stockholm, after coming home from our Canadian/American tour, we wanted to make a cocktail reminding us how much fun we had while away. During our trip we visited Chicago, Vancouver and Los Angeles. Hence in this cocktail we are incorporating one local spirit from each city/state.

From Chicago comes Koval gin, with its beautifully laced label. We think this is a rather refreshing style of gin, not too bitter and almost a bit fruity. Perfect for using in cocktails to be sipped during summer months.

From Vancouver we use Odd Society’s Bittersweet Vermouth. It’s based on a traditional Italian vermouth recipe, and it’s made with about 25 different botanicals.

Not really in Los Angeles, but in Alameda California is where St George Spirits Bruto Americano is made. It’s a bitter style spirit made with herbs, roots and botanicals. Its red color is one hundred percent natural.

Mixing these three spirits in equal parts, adding a few drops of mind-blowingly good Plum and Rootbeer bitters from Bittered Sling Vancouver, creates a Negroni style cocktail that we’d like to name; the Chi Vangeles.

1 oz Koval Distillery Gin
1 oz Odd Society Bittersweet Vermouth
1 oz St George Spirits Bruto Americano
3 drops Bittered Sling Plum & Rootbeer Bitters
