Crème de cassis can be a bit overwhelming, but in The Hissy Fit cocktail by Josh Ropson the amount of this sweet liqueur is kept at a moderate level. Still it contributes with the most gorgeous color and of course a lot of flavour. We enhanced the overall purple impression by garnishing the drink with a Maraschino cherry and some dried pomegranate kernels (casually sticking to the glass – after a ten minute struggle involving sticky syrup and a hair dryer).
1,5 oz bourbon
0,5 oz lemon juice
0,5 oz elderflower liqueur
0,5 oz crème de cassis
Shake with ice, strain and pour into desired glassware.
