High up in the Toronto sky is Canoe, being both a restaurant and skybar.
As this was our last night in town we decided to have the full experience, a tasting menu and some cocktails.
Screech
First cocktail of choice was a “Screetch Manhattan”. A twist on an iconic drink where whiskey was substituted with Newfoundland Screech rum. This worked really well, although it was a shame the bartender put so much melting ice in the drink making it diluted rather quickly.
The first food we had was premmican, a traditional dried meat. Being almost vegetarians this was a hefty start to the evening, but paired with a “Prairie Thyme” cocktail the small portion of meat was actually quite nice in the end. The cocktail was fragrant from the thyme and worked well with the flavorful cured meat.
