This recipe is to show how easy it can be to mix a nice rum highball drink at home. All the ingredients used are poured straight into a tall glass, after which you’re ready to enjoy. The art of mixology doesn’t have to be more complicated than that.
We’ve also tried to stick to ingredients that you keep at home anyway. Once again, although it is fun to explore new ingredients, staying on the lookout for peculiarities, often it is also nice to just be able to grab what you have and turn it into a nice drink. And if you don’t have a particular fruit juice, in many cases you can just swap it for another one. For example, in this recipe the grapefruit juice could be substituted for orange juice.
The base in the drink is Flor de Caña rum, and we’ve really come to appreciate it thanks to how versatile it is. Drinking it neat is fantastic and mixing with it is so convenient as it seems to blend with a lot of different flavors. It’s the perfect bottle of rum to keep in your cocktail cabinet.
