It was probably the long list of ingredients that made us interested in Sweep The Leg, by Brad Farran.
Yes, a lot of measuring to be made here, but if you persist you are rewarded with a tiki like cocktail bursting with flavors. The whisky plays the leading role, but the supporting characters also deserve rewards. Orgeat has always been a favorite sweetener to us, and we still have a home made batch in our cocktail fridge. Sherry is what we are using more and more, loving its dry and low alcoholic features. Honey syrup being a bit less sugary compared to regular simple syrup we think work brilliantly together with all kind of whiskies. The amaro Abano, although only added in a tiny quantity, makes this cocktail slightly herbal and bitter in a wonderful way. And finally the Ango and mole bitters finish this cocktail in the most elegant of ways.
Did we hear a cheers after all this hard measuring labour?
