We love mezcal. This smoky agave spirit is so full of character and flavour, and it always makes for an interesting cocktail.
In the Mezcalita, mezcal gets to be the star supported by its sibling tequila as well as fresh lime juice and sweet and nutty orgeat. The result, a cloudy cocktail that contrasts so nicely with the clear ice we used.
The rubber coasters by @champ.co are made of recycled airplane tyres. And some of them just happen to have the exakt some colour as the floating Angostura!
Mezcalita
Recipe by Ted Dako
Ingredients:
0,5 oz mezcal
1 oz blanco tequila
1 oz lime juice
1 oz orgeat
Angostura bitters, for the float
Mixing:
Shake all ingredients except the bitters with lots of fresh ice. Strain into a rocks glass, or a wine glass like we did. Add a large ice cube to the glass and float the Angostura on top. A burning rosemary sprig is the suggested garnish (which we didn’t have on hand).
Glassware:
rocks or wine glass
