Be honest now, how often do you use Madeira in cocktails?
This is one of the first few times for us, and we did it because we saw Brendan over at Drinking Hobby posting this intriguing cocktail. It’s his original recipe, and he calls it the Tailwind:
Yes that is a long list of ingredients, and yes it is so worth it! This cocktail is a flavor explosion, with boozy, fruity, sweet and bitter notes, all at once. We would have never even thought of combining Kümmel and Madeira, but Brendan proves how brilliantly it works.
We garnished our cocktail with a dehydrated blood orange wheel, and we used a vintage glass placed on a 1920s pattern to set the mood for this shot. And we are so pleased to see the cocktail looking as good as it tastes!
