The Illusionist gin is truly magical. When poured from the bottle it has an almost purple colour, but when it is mixed with other ingredients its colour changes. Part of the excitement is seeing what colour the mixed drink gets after adding the gin.
When we created this drink we thought it would end up a bit blue, but when the gin was mixed with Suze, it decided to go golden/amber instead. When seeing that, we just had to call the drink “The Wizard”.
Both the gin and the Suze have a bitter note to them which is nice to balance with refreshing and lively Lillet blanc. What’s created is a fairly complex drink with many layers of flavour. The orange zest is beautiful as a garnish, but it also contributes with a very complementing aroma and some taste.
